It all began with a few innocent experiments in the kitchen.

Having struggled with lactose intolerance and gluten free diet for years, Thirza Voysey, the founder of Be.Raw Chocolate decided to explore just what was possible with raw cacao. Inevitably there were a number of disasters before Thirza found the path to true cacao wisdom, but with time, patience, and perseverance she slowly mastered the art. At which point she felt it was time to share her scrumptious creations & discoveries with friends and family.

The response was overwhelming – the chocolate wasn’t just quite tasty, it was delicious, and people went wild for it. Thirza thought she might well be on to something.

That was when the serious experiments started: adding new ingredients, seven new experimental flavours were born to match her inevitable passion for yoga and the divine chakras. Thirza evolved into something of a mad chocolatier, but when she emerged from her kitchen she had the recipe for her chocolates, and a shining glint in her eye. That shining glint was what quickly became the Be.Raw Chocolate Company.

Founded in 2013, the Raw Chocolate Company is now three people strong and expanding, and is fast becoming a favourite with chocolate lovers all over Vancouver Island and the mainland.

“I set out to make a fabulous chocolate that is healing in many ways. I wanted people to taste my chocolate and have a moment, an experience of presence and joy during their otherwise busy lives.

I also wanted my chocolate to have a positive impact on the world, and on the lives of those involved in making it. With these ideas in mind, I set out to make the first multi-layered healing chocolate the world as seen!
